The Coffee Scoop

A hand-carved olive wood coffee scoop, engraved with the Spring Valley Coffee leaf. Each scoop is unique: every piece of olive wood is carefully selected from Narok County and can take up to two hours to carve.

Use

• Each scoop holds approximately 7g of coarse ground coffee
• Use two scoops (14g) per cup of coffee
• A typical 420ml French Press / plunger needs four scoops (28g) to make two cups of coffee

Care

• After every use, wipe down with a soft, dry cloth
• Once a week, wash with water and dry immediately with a soft, dry cloth
• As required, apply a spot of coconut oil to help it last forever

The artisan

This scoop is handmade by Christopher from Machakos. He began his woodworking journey as a sander and grew into a carver, and has been living and working in Kibera since 2006.
