Description

Thunguri Factory was established in 1967 and is a part of the renowned Rumukia FCS; a Farmers’ Cooperative Society is community of smallholder farmers who pool their harvests for processing.

Thunguri processes coffee cherries from over 700 farmers, most of whom cultivate around 250 coffee trees on half-acre plots.

The coffee cherries undergo anaerobic fermentation - an oxygen-deprivation technique - in airtight “sleeping bags” for 72 hours, allowing them to develop concentrated sweetness and layered fruit characteristics.

The result is a vibrant, memorable cup with notes of watermelon, cranberry and winey depth, lifted by a gentle cinnamon finish.

Tasting Notes

watermelon, cranberry & winey with a syrupy mouthfeel

Brew Method

Both espresso-based drinks and filter and manual brews.
